Sharpham Rustic

Price range: £8.00 through £40.00

Sharpham Rustic is a popular semi‑hard cheese made with rich Jersey cow’s milk. Its refreshing, lightly tangy flavour balances beautifully with the natural creaminess of the milk, and its crumbly, soft‑edged texture makes it unlike anything else — a true South West original. Made in both large deli cheeses and little truckles, Rustic is a versatile favourite, perfect for cheeseboards, gifting, or topping a celebration cheese cake.

Awarded One Star at the Great Taste Awards 2026, judges praised its distinctive character, describing it as:

‘This attractive, UFO-shaped cheese has a thin, white rind. The paste is even, paler in colour and softer in the middle, graduating to become marginally darker as it nears the rind. Its smell is buttery and slightly grassy. The texture is soft, melting and almost fudgy. The flavour is mild but builds in complexity. It has a touch of bitterness, almost lemony, which adds to the overall appeal, cutting through the creaminess. The rind is earthy but not overpowering and brings extra balance to the slight acidity of the cheese. This tastes like a cheese that somebody has taken great care over.’
