🍁 Autumn is here! Time to hunker down with a tasty Sharpham cheeseboard, some fiery chutney and a wedge or two of warm sourdough. We’d recommend a soft Cremet goat, a rich Rushmore mixed-milk truckle, maybe a wedge of our new Smoked Chilli Rustic, an oozing Brie and our own south Devon Scotch Bonnet chilli jam for some extra heat. . . #cheese #cheeseboard #southdevon -

A day photographing cheese is always a good day! This time we chose to use the fantastic space just above our dairy, the Education Centre at @southdevonfoodhub, the physical heart of our growing community. Lovely to spend the day with @rachelhoilephotography, who has been our photographer from day one here at Sharpham. We shot our exciting new Christmas hamper, some brand new products and updates to old favourites. All to be revealed soon! What a great space to have on our doorstep! -

🧀 Cheese, fire, and fresh air! Kate took her Bank Holiday BBQ to the next level while camping this weekend. 🔥 Armed with one of our Sharpham BBQ hampers, she melted a whole oozy Camembert over the flames, and yes, it tasted as good as it looked served with roasted potatoes and focaccia to dip. ☀️ The sun might seem like a distant memory, but it’ll be back! ➡️ Our BBQ hamper is available until the end of August and includes a bottle of @sandfordorchards Perry, @westcountryolives, a wedge of Rustic with Smoked Chilli, a plain Rustic truckle and two jars of our chutney. All for £40 - which is less than you’d pay individually. -

🌱 RECIPE | Sharpham Rushmore Pesto Try this rich, tangy pesto made with our mixed milk Rushmore cheese. It’s bold, nutty, and vibrant… perfect for pasta or grilled summer veg. 👉🏼 Ingredients… 50g Basil leaves. 40g Sharpham Rushmore, grated. 30g pine nuts (or walnuts for a more earthy flavour). 1 garlic clove, roughly chopped. Juice of 1/2 a lemon. 75ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil (plus more if needed). Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste. 👉🏼 Method… Lightly toast the pine nuts or walnuts in a dry pan over medium heat until golden and fragrant. Allow to cool. In a food processor or blender, combine the basil, toasted nuts, garlic, and grated Sharpham Rushmore cheese. Blitz briefly to break everything down. Add the lemon juice and begin adding in the olive oil while blending until the mixture is thick and spoonable, but not too smooth. Add salt and black pepper. Remember, Sharpham Rushmore has a salty, tangy profile, so taste before adding too much salt. Use immediately, or transfer to a clean jar and top with a thin layer of olive oil to preserve freshness. Store in the fridge for up to five days. -

We’re so proud that South Devon Food Hub has been our home for a year! And what a year it’s been! This growing community of artisan producers has been brought together and nurtured by brilliant owners and farmers, Ian and Julie Dennis. Yesterday they treated @southdevonfoodhub tenants to a summer BBQ like no other… a tractor ride up to the farm’s highest hill, incredible views, juicy Angus beef burgers, Surfing Cow ice cream, and an insight into the farm, the cows and environmental initiatives. A big THANK YOU to Ian, Julie and the whole family for the warm welcome (and top-notch grilling and tractor driving!). . . #devonviews #southdevon #devonfarming #devon #southdevonfoodhub @surfingcowgelato @barbersbeantobar2020 @foodincommunity @orchard_drinks @katefooddrink @parsons.nicky @andreaveale1 -

⭐️ Some news from July! We’re delighted that Washbourne, Sharpham’s only sheep’s milk cheese, was awarded a ⭐️ star by @guildoffinefood in the 2025 Great Taste Awards. If you’re unfamiliar with Washbourne, it’s an unpressed washed curd cheese. It has a subtle, nutty flavour that develops with age and a pliable and smooth texture, achieved by washing the curds. Once moulded we bathe it brine, turn and mature it until it’s ready to head out to cheese counters. A great alternative to manchego in Mediterranean style dishes or simply enjoy Washbourne on its own with a little quince jelly. The nuttiness works really well with a livelier white wine. We use the excellent ewes’ milk from East Devon sheep farmers, Tom and Helen Garland, to make Washbourne. Give it a try on your next cheeseboard! -

🌶️ Getting our chilli on at South Devon Chilli Farm. Last week we were invited to explore this unique chilli growing farm not far from our cheese dairy, to celebrate the launch of their new Manzanilla Tropical Chilli Jam. @southdevonchillifarm supplies the smoked chillies for our new Rustic with Smoked Chilli, so it was fascinating to see where our chilli cheese has its roots (watch this space for an upcoming giveaway!) Amrit and Jenny, owners of South Devon Chilli Farm, and their small team, specialise in growing a wide range of different chilli types. They plant, propagate, grow and harvest over 100 varieties. You can buy seeds, chilli plants and they also make some of the most delicious chutneys and sauces around. And they have an RHS Chelsea Gold Medal to boot! Their approach is to work in harmony with the natural environment which means no use of pesticides, they use 100% renewable energy thanks to solar panels, and more. Check out their website for a full run down of their impressive sustainable ethos. Amrit showed a group of chilli lovers around the fascinating research tunnel; the growing tunnels which range across scenic Devon slopes, and the surprisingly bijou kitchen where their chef creates all their chilli-based products… and we arrived back at the shop hungry for snacks… mmm our rich and creamy Elmhirst paired with the new Manzanilla Tropical Chilli Jam hit the spot. What a combo! The new Tropical Chilli Jam has the bright tang of pineapple, a hint of lemongrass, a zing of ginger and the heat of Devon chillies. We were really wowed by the flavours, which cut through the richness of the cheese a treat. Thanks for the tour and for sharing your passion for chillies Amrit! -
