Our cheese labels - Vale Labels
Sharpham uses a Tintoretto paper stock for their cheese labels. This facestock has FSC certification. This means that this paper product comes from suppliers that meet strict environmental, social and economic standards. These standards support the responsible management of the world’s forests and sustainable use of natural materials.
As a company Vale are working hard to meet high environmental standards and help their customers do the same. They are part of the Zero Labels and Foil to Waste schemes, which help to reduce the amount of label and foil waste reaching landfill.
Our cheese wrapping - Ovtene
Traditional plastic alternatives are made of 100% polyethylene. Ovtene is primarily composed of calcium carbonate and other trace minerals. This reduces the amount of plastic used by 60% while preserving resources and reducing waste.
Ovtene is a packaging material which extends the quality and characteristics of food products. Inspired by nature to be the first food packaging that restricts the growth of bacteria, Ovtene is 100% recyclable. Ovtene is primarily composed of bio-materials (calcium carbonate and other trace mineral ingredients). The physical properties of Ovtene maintain the organoleptic characteristics of food. Therefore extending the life of your cold cuts, sliced cheese, fresh meat, seafood, produce and baked goods.
Gel Packs - Thergis®
The gel is non-toxic and is a food-safe solution. Once defrosted cut open the pack and pour the non-toxic solution down the drain. Rinsing with hot tap water will help dissolve the gel faster. The gel pack content has been certified as drain safe. The LDPE 4 labelled plastic outer can be recycled according to your local recycling regulations.

Everything RH Fibreboard manufactures is 100% Recycable, biodegradable and safe for composting. Around 80-85% of everything we produce is made from Recycled Material
They aim to provide designs that minimise waste, through sheet economy.
They provide designs aimed to minimise use of tape, plastics and other material types which are not as sustainable.
FSC® Accredited Materials/Products
Inks are water based, safe for the environment and safe to compost.
Glue and starch used in the process are safe for the environment and not genetically modified.
Leaflets, postcards and cracker sleeves - Acanthus Press
The paper for our leaflets is uncoated wood-free, FSC® certified and 100% recyclable and biodegradable, the inks are vegetable based and most of the power used to produce it here is solar. The majority of by-products used in production are recycled.
