March sees the start of Spring! We’ve created a box of spring treats to celebrate Easter on Sunday 31st March.
We’ve teamed up with local friends to create the perfect springtime hamper. Gift this delicious box of artisan Sharpham cheese, crackers, chutney, Devon handmade chocolate and Sparkling Elderflower Bubbly. Or why not invite friends and family over and enjoy this box of spring… feel free to add more items to your box at the checkout.
The Cheese –
Sharpham Brie (V) (P) (300g): Handmade here at the Sharpham Dairy, Totnes, Devon. Sharpham Brie is more of a Coulommier-style cheese and has been hand-made to our recipe since 1981. Buttercup yellow with fresh milk from our Jersey herd, it is a mould-ripened cheese. We hand carved into the small heart shapes. It’s firm, rich, and creamy when young, softening with mushroomy notes and a chicory finish with age. Heart- 300g- Diameter 11cm x Height 3.5cm. Food Drink Devon Award winner in 2023- Platinum
The Crackers-
Sharpham Rosemary Sourdough Crackers (100g) – These Sharpham crackers are handmade in Devon, using organically grown wheat, rye and oat grains. These grains are freshly milled creating fresh stone ground flour. The flour and mixture of sourdough starters are combined with locally produced honey and olive oil, some of which has had rosemary steeped in it for several weeks; sea salt, of which 15% is Devon Sea Salt and freshly chopped locally-picked rosemary leaves. The crackers are then slowly baked to perfection, making sure we get that incredible crack of the crispbread we all love. Our crispbreads aren’t uniform in shape or colour, each batch is individual. They’re great, piled high on a cheeseboard.
The Chutney-
Sharpham Bramley Apple & Hunts Wobbler Cider Chutney (220g)
British Bramley apples and local Hunts Wobbler cider combined with sultanas and ground spices. Slightly sharp, tangy, and lightly spiced, it’s the perfect pairing for Sharpham Brie Heart cheese also good with cold meats and pies, so perfect for an Easter gathering.
The Drink –
Luscombe -Wild Elderflower Bubbly 740ml
Made by Luscombe in Buckfastleigh, Devon using Dartmoor spring water. Elderflowers, hand-picked in the June sunshine, give this drink a lovely light floral infusion. The gentle sparkle lifts the floral notes for an elegant taste. We love this chilled in a champagne flute on its own or as a mixer with a local Devon Gin. It’s great for when you want an elegant drink but don’t want the alcohol. The perfect accompaniment to an Easter Sunday lunch that everyone can enjoy.

Exe Chocolate – Earl Grey Tea with a Dash of Milk
Crafted by hand, by chocolatier Nicola in the tiniest chocolate factory in the heart of Exeter. We love Nicola’s passion for handmade chocolate and wanted to share a little bar of something special and different this Easter.
Earl Grey Tea with a Dash of Milk is from Nicola’s ‘Inclusions’ range. It’s made with 60% dark milk chocolate made with El Salvador cacao and Exmoor Tea’s Earl Grey with a sprinkling of blue cornflowers. Let it melt on your tongue, and don’t munch, though this is very hard to do when it’s so delicious.
A special Sharpham hint of spring.
We wanted to share a bit of spring joy so with every Spring Cheese Box, we have added a little envelope of seeds. Sharpham’s Kate is a passionate gardener and cook. Tagetes – Burning Embers seeds were collected from Kate’s garden last summer. A lovely vibrant flower, also known as the French Marigold, is beautiful as a cut flower, but also a wonderful companion plant for your tomatoes. The flowers are edible, so you can pop them on your summer salads.
Plant under cover from March or direct plant in April once the frosts have passed. Keep dead heading these and you could have flowers until October.
